About Nature Palestine Society (NPS)

Nature Palestine Society (NPS) is a Palestinian non-profit organization established in 2017, dedicated to advancing biodiversity conservation, environmental sustainability, and community resilience. The Society operates at the intersection of scientific research, policy engagement, and community-based action, contributing to national and global environmental priorities.

NPS works to generate evidence-based knowledge on Palestine’s biodiversity, ecosystems, and environmental challenges, while translating this knowledge into practical interventions, capacity-building programs, and policy-relevant outputs. Through its integrated approach, the Society supports the protection of natural habitats, the conservation of threatened species, and the sustainable management of natural resources.

A core pillar of NPS’s work is empowering youth and local communities as active agents of environmental change. The organization designs and implements innovative training programs, including flagship initiatives such as the Palestine Youth Climate Corps, which equip young people with technical, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills in climate action and environmental management.

NPS also plays a key role in supporting national environmental governance processes. The organization has contributed to the development of strategic frameworks, national assessments, and reporting processes aligned with international agreements, including the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Sustainable Development Goals. Its work is characterized by strong collaboration with governmental institutions, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and international partners.
